So great is the squad depth at the club, Niasse made his first game at defender.

"It's a bit different but then, I love running and just go forward - I'm not staying back that much," he said.

"I warn my defender 'I'm not staying' and that I'm just going to continue attacking.

"That running is what I'm after. It's good fun."

'Surreal Experience

In addition to Cisse's 6 goals on debut, Ireland has scored eight in three games for Wythenshawe, while George Boyd scored five on his first appearance and Lescott, a centre-half by position, notched a hat-trick in one game up front.

The manager coaches the Collegiate veterans team, who secured the Top Tier championship the previous campaign, along with his co-manager.

"Our team went one-nil up and had a
